Extracting the purchased archive
New kon-boot version provides .exe installer. So the "extraction steps" are no longer required.
 
Extraction steps:
1. Please disable your antivirus while downloading, extracting and installing Kon-Boot!

CD Installation Guide
Installation steps:

PLEASE KEEP YOUR ANTIVIRUS DISABLED WHILE EXTRACTING/BURNING/INSTALLING KON-BOOT

1. Following tutorial uses the free recording software named ImgBurn. You can download it here.

2. Put blank CD-R media into your CD-RW / DVD-RW drive.
3. Run the ImgBurn program
4. Select "Write image file to disc":

 

5. Click "Browse"

6. Select "kon-bootCD.iso"

7. Click burn and wait for the burning process to complete.
8. You are ready to use your Kon-Boot!

USB Installation Guide
 
Installation steps:

PLEASE KEEP YOUR ANTIVIRUS DISABLED WHILE EXTRACTING/BURNING/INSTALLING KON-BOOT

1. Insert your USB drive into your computer (your BIOS must support booting from USB)

2. Run konboot_usb.exe or grubinst_gui.exe and select your USB drive from the list, click enter. If multiple USB drives appear, be sure to select the drive which corresponds to the proper thumb drive you have inserted.

This installation will erase certain information on the USB drive. Data can be potentially lost!

 

3. Copy the files located in "USBFILES" folder (grldr, konboot.img, menu.lst) to the USB disk

 

4. Installation complete, you are ready to use Kon-Boot on USB

Escalation steps:
1. Boot your Microsoft Windows operating system with Kon-Boot

2. Execute (run) cmd.exe

3. Execute (run) following command in the console (assuming you are now in writable directory, default windows directory path): copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe cmk.exe
4. Execute (run) cmk.exe
5. Execute (run) cmd.exe (optional)
